The new Savantis Group will:
The combined Entity will operate from two main offices to service the North American Market: One in CA (San Francisco) and the other in PA (Exton). ”This is a decisive move that accelerates our strategy and positions us to win by offering even greater value to our customers and to SAP," said Roel Deuss. "In addition to the clear strategic benefits of combining two highly-complementary organizations and service offerings, we want customers to receive high-impact business value and to profit from our Solution offerings”. Although this is an acquisition of the interests of Gryffyns, the new company will have at its helm Allan Vanderheyden. He will bring continuity to the customer base and, with the same passion for business benefit, grow the business, now with additional resource and an expanded team. For Sports Basement, SAP has always been about a complete solution to their business needs. A solution that is "future proof". This was the vision that Mr. David Rumberg had when he approached SAP and Gryffyns nearly a year ago. Now on November 1, The Sports Basement goes live with a truly comprehensive solution. A solution that includes the main components of merchandising, inventory and finance, and goes beyond to include eCommerce, loyalty and RFID. For a midsized organization, this is probably one of the most encompassing all-in-one SAP solutions to go live. Sports Basement is a rapidly growing community-based sports retailer. Their four large-format stores are centered around the San Francisco area, with a flagship store on the Presidio. Having grown out of their current systems, Sports Basement took a number of novel approaches to replacing their infrastructure. For a start, a partnership was formed between Gryffyns and The Sports Basement that did not fix the installation price, but had the payment directly linked to the short and medium term ROI. The implementation itself was novel in that it was a "big bang" roll out and to ensure the success, all training and testing was finally done on the live system. This testing was then purged from the reports. Although the aim was for a 100% SAP solution, in a few areas, practicality and costs allowed integration into other systems. |
The dashboards, for example, were created with DigDash and the RFID processes and are handled through TrueCount. As to the rest, it is largely SAP, built out of the best-practices template as adapted by Gryffyns. How does a Midmarket company afford such a comprehensive solution? By innovating in the financing, innovating the implementation and still keeping the security associated with a tested best-practices approach. Where to from here? The Sports Basement is still innovating together with Gryffyns. In the short term, functionality has been developed to manage inter-store transfers and there is an exciting development in the deployment of a rental solution. In the medium term, the partners are looking at an innovative support model that creates value for all the parties and develops skill in the SAP retail space. The Sports Basement is definitely a retailer to watch! | ||||
